ABOUT MILL LODGE RETREAT

Nestled in the heart of Essex, in the charming village of Ingatestone, our picturesque 6-acre grassy meadow features 9 lakeside Glamping pods and a family Tree house with stunning lake side views.

Our lake is home to over 325 fish, including carp that weigh up to 40 pounds. Pike to 22lb perch to 4lb roach and Rudd to 1lb tench to 6lb and crucian carp.

During your stay, you’ll have the chance to catch one of our two 40-pounders, along with thirteen 30-pound carp and more than a hundred fish in the 20-pound range, with the remainder weighing between 15  and 19 pounds.

Given the abundance of trees surrounding the lake, fallen leaves can pose a challenge, so we recommend using a bait boat with solid bags and pop-up rig chod rigs to enhance your chances of success. The lake bed is predominantly silty, so be sure to feel around for hard clay spots.
